Emerging Technologies Conference at UNC?

good idea. Invite Motricity to attend or sponsor the event. They are located in Durham but are in process of moving their facilities to Washington state. They specialize in delivering online content to mobile devices.

We at ibiblio would love to help out. The School of Information and Library Science and the School of Journalism and Mass Communication both have classes that touch on or deeply involve these technologies. I'm sure my colleagues in both would be glad to help out on the conference.
In the Triangle, Red Hat, IBM, rPath and others are involved in the Cloud and in Virtualization.

Frank and Paul, thanks for your comments. Motricity and ibiblio are great resources for such a conference. Please let's keep the ball rolling on this and see if we can organize such an event; it will be great for the school, the developers, and the users.
I think a conference like that would be great here at UNC. I would certainly attend and encourage many of the folks I support to attend. Let me know how I can be of assistance.

we've done a number of unconferences in the triangle using the barcamp format aka BarCampRDU http://barcamp.pbwiki.com/BarCampRDU and some with only slightly more structure; a bloggers conference, a podcasting conference and three Science Blogging/Science on the Web conferences. They
worked great.
